Help REAL GIRLS to become reality

REAL GIRLS is in the middle of production. We started without any support because it is a project in our hearts – now we need your help to finish it!

Our work until now.

After meeting and filming many transgender women at work and in their homes, we established friendships with several of them. After relentlessly following and filming them we were able to determine who were most interesting and representative for our film. We have about 20 hours of material shot over 3-months at our own cost.  We now have selected our main characters and know where the story is going.

What needs to happen?

We need to go back to show how the girls are now and what developments have happened. After collecting this material, the pearls of the interviews and the most beautiful shots have to be selected and put together, music has to be composed and the colours have to be corrected, subtitles must be put in place and then the movie must be marketed. This takes not only half a year of our time, but a whole team, that also need to have time. We are going to make the movie somehow, but money determines its quality and outreach. It just makes a difference if you use corrugated iron or bricks for the house that you want to build. In our case we need approximately 30,000 Euro for buying our “bricks”.

Editing
We need to have the time to sit 4-6 months down to pre-edit the movie. But we would also like to employ and editor who does the final polish and grade.

Sound Engineering
Because we film partly under very complicated circumstances, it is nearly impossible to have a consistent soundquality in the recordings. A problem that can easily be fixed in the postproduction- with some budget.

Music
REAL GIRLS deserves great music not only because it features great dancers, but we need to hire our great musician, Sascha Witt, to compose it.

So really… every cent that you want to contribute is another step forward to gender equality by making our movie better.
